The Humanitarian Logistics Certification Program (HLCP) has embraced the digital age by converting its curriculum to an e-learning format, making it more accessible to a global audience.
In partnership with DisasterReady, a leading online learning platform for humanitarian professionals, learners now have the flexibility to engage with the course content in two ways. They can either access the free self-guided e-learning courses available on DisasterReady or take their studies further and opt for the fee-based version, which includes personalized guidance from Logistics Learning Alliance (LLA) coaches.
Completing the coached version not only enhances the learning experience but also leads to Full Certification and Credentialing from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT UK), recognized as a mark of professional excellence in humanitarian logistics.
Coached Distance Learning Tasks
To receive certification, there are coached assignments that are designed to elevate the learning experience by offering a deeper, more reflective approach to the course content.
Unlike the e-learning tasks, these assignments challenge learners with open-ended questions that encourage critical thinking and a thorough understanding of humanitarian logistics principles.
Each assignment is reviewed by a dedicated coach who provides personalized feedback, guiding learners to refine their responses, expand their insights, or correct their approaches.
Quiz-Based E-Learning
The quiz-based e-learning component of the program is combined with the SCILaid case scenario. Guided by a virtual supervisor, learners are led through a series of thought-provoking exercises and knowledge checks that challenge their understanding and decision-making skills.
To complete these quizzes, learners will need to explore the SCILaid intranet, consult the accompanying learning guide for each unit, employ critical thinking and independent research, including internet searches. This interactive approach ensures that learners not only absorb the material but also develop the problem-solving skills essential for real-world humanitarian logistics.
